Hi all,
I'm so excited - I'll be attending the NFB conference for the first time,
well, maybe the only time as I'm from New Zealand. President Mark
Riccobono's invited me to address the convention and I've already let your
NAGDU leadership know that I'd love to meet you all. I'm just in the process
of sorting out the paperwork to bring a guide dog from NZ into the US and
then back home. Bringing Westin into the States doesn't seem a big deal, but
it's the arrangements for bringing him back home that's a bit of planning
and work. Today Westin went for his Rabies jab and closer to the time he'll
get his Heart Worm shot and whatever else is required.
NZ has very few natural predditors and diseases such as Rabies and much more
simply don't exist here.
The main thing is that I'm so keen to meet up with you all while in Vagus.
I've not told Westin as yet that the leg of the flight between Auckland and
LA is 12 hours in case he either goes on strike or guides me under a bus....
So, I'll be arriving the evening of the 7th and I'm leaving on the 13th.
Now, I need to find a vet in Vagus who can sign the import certificate prior
to me leaving the US, so, if anyone knows of a vet not too far of the
Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino where we'll be staying, receiving their
contact details will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Martine
