[NAGDU] Some Questions About Guiding Eyes

I’ve received both my dogs from Guiding Eyes, the first in June 2012, and the second September of last year. I have not gotten any grief over back tracking, complex street crossings, or mandatory annual visits. I had my first guide for six years before he died, and I had 5 follow-upvisits, the first being a year after graduation, the second was 3 years in and that was because I visited New York and met up with an instructor, and the last 3 were requested visits for needing help with roots in a new area and to change out equipment. I am almost at the one year anniversary with my current guide, and if someone does not reach out to me to schedule a one-year visit, I will request one. I personally appreciate these visits, mandatory or not, because it says that my school cares about my partnership. They want to make sure that the dog works well, the dog is in good condition, and the team is functioning fluidly.
There are not any mandatory reports to fill out. There are 3 satisfaction surveys you take about a month after you graduate, six months into your partnership, and a year into your partnership, I’ve not heard that any of these are mandatory. If any of this seems bothersome to you, maybe it’s not the right choice for you.
