I heard from GDF. they are basically shut down. All of the dogs are with
instructors and or in homes. They are hoping to be up and running again in
June, or end of May. I also got a message with what to do with your dog at
this challenging time.

Sincerely,
Melissa R Green and Pj

Hello, all,
It would be good if someone close to GDB, or someone who works there, can
give us the scoop onwhether or not class was dismissed early and not
allowed
to take their dogs home. If it happened that way, this seems unreasonable
to
me. Cindy Lou Ray

I heard something yesterday that quite upset me, but perhaps it's the
guide
dog gossip mill running amok again.

I heard that GDB dismissed its last class 2 days before they would have
graduated, sent everyone home without their dogs, and told them not to
expect to get those same dogs if they came back.

To me, they'd practically finished their training. They'd already gotten
attached to their dogs, and put in a lot of work, only to have their dogs
summarily removed and their work thrown out. I don't understand why they
just couldn't go home a couple days early. Was it one of those
super-short
classes, or what?

Like California, Jersey where I live is in lock-down, but we are still
free
to go out for walks, so long as we stay away from other people. Not
ideal,
but enough to get some guide-work in.

So, did this happen? Was there an actual good reason, or was it GDB being
high-handed with its students, again?

Tracy
