[NAGDU] dog dental hygiene

A *long time ago, I gave my first dog a raw knuckle bone, and it splintered in a bad way.  The poor girl was miserable pooping for a couple days.  I never tried it again.  
I know people say it's good, but it wasn't good for her.

Hi, I was using chicken backs raw.  I got them at the butcher and kept my dog's teeth quite clean.  You need to make sure that your dog gets used to biting the raw chicken backs.  Don't!! feed him cooked bones.  If you can get raw meaty beef knuckle bones, that would be good also.  Andy and Shubert

Hi all, 

I need some advice on the best dental care products you have used for   dog teeth and gums.  There are so many on the market- chews, wipes, gels, powders etc.  When I first got my dog, I was brushing her teeth which she didn’t like and it wasn’t very effective.  My vet told me about a dental rinse to put in her water.  I have been using that and have stopped brushing.  Now she has developed bad breath and gingivitis.  My vet has recommended professional cleaning.  Has anyone had an experience with this type of cleaning?  If I do decide to have this done, I  then want to maintain her clean mouth and need suggestions on the best products for this.  Thanks.
