[NAGDU] trimming dog nails

I have been trimming dog nails since my first dog when I was in middle school, a long time! Back then nail grinders for dogs didn’t exist and no one had thought of using a drummer tool. I learned with clippers and still use them from time to time. The advantages for me are speed and less set up. I have tried a number of different dog nail grinders and a Black and Decker dremmel tool. The dog nail grinders are less powerful, but are easier to control. They typically come with a guide where you can put the nail, if it fits, to get the correct angle. Or that is the idea, actual functionality depends somewhat on your dog’s nail shape and size. The dog nail grinders are also much quieter and are more likely to be accepted by your dog. The advantage to the grinder is that you take off excess nail slowly and can check your progress periodically. You also get a smooth, rounded nail tip, which is less likely to scratch floors or furniture. Of course you can take your dog for a walk after using clippers and the cement will smooth the cut edges.

Anyway, both are doable by blind people. It just depends on your preferences, your skills, the dogs preferences, and your budget.
