Good morning to all,
First of all, I will suggest that I was in error when I said that David had posted for Marion. David beat Marion to it. However, since Marion has posted most of his material on Blindtlk lately, I made an inaccurate assumption.
Yes, the post was about guide dogs. However, Marion has resigned from the National Federation of the Blind, and it feels as if his organization is a direct result of his not agreeing with Raul’s decision. You all have the right to disagree with me, but NAGDU and the National Federation of the Blind own this list. We don’t allow advertising here, which is what that was, guide dog related or not. Julie Johnson always checks with me before sending out an ad concerning On the Go, and this is what I am telling you have to do in cases such as this. You can disagree with me until the cows come home, if they do, but if you do not cooperate with me, we are able to put you on moderated status. I would add that it is hard for everyone involved if we do that, and it isn’t that much to ask to abide by the rules of an NFB owned list.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

I have seen where people also post about meetings or other events run by organizations such as NAGDU, IAADP, and other organizations not affiliated with NFB and they aren't told it's off topic.
> So just like David, I'm legit confused how a message about guide dogs is off topic if other people can also post this same type of information about meetings and such without getting into trouble.

I posted it under my own volition on behalf of fellow members of our group who may be interested in ownership issues in light of the myriad stories we have heard about inappropriate actions by some guide dog schools and how we can protect ourselves from these problems. These stories have come from many members over the years. It is my belief that fear of losing their dogs is the number one reason that guide dog handlers do not bring serious problems back to their schools.

>> 2. I have no evidence of Marion flaming the board. I do know that he and other members have opinions that differ from some who are on the board. It would be a sad day if we couldn't talk about our different opinions. There is nothing in the notice that I sent out that is disrespectful of anyone, or anything. Just because Marion said something and is also the contact person for ASAP does not make the ideas presented and the topics toxic, confrontational, or evil.

>> 1) Marion is still on this list; therefore, he could have posted it himself. He did not choose to do so. You should not be posting it on his behalf. If someone wants a message posted on their behalf and feels they can’t post it, they need to contact me and ask me to send it for them, or they need to go ahead and post it if they are on this list.
>> Second, Marion has been flaming the board, criticizing what we are doing. Marion has resigned from the National Federation of the Blind. Had he not done so, it is possible we could have worked out all of the issues that have been created. Therefore, I would ask that you post no further messages on his behalf.

>>> Hello all. The NAGDU board fully supports Cindy's request for this thread to stop. Furthermore, Cindy asked for this to be taken off list. What some would call, "lack of action," others may call, "taking a different view." Clearly, some people have different perspectives, and that is okay. However, what is not okay is for people to post off-topic messages that go against the list rules that we have set forth.
