[NAGDU] Introducing myself

Hi, welcome to the list. I am on my fourth dog Sherlock from Seeing eye dogs
Australia. I still have my retired dog Rolo and we have a family dog called
lunar.

Lunar is six but still loves to play with Sherlock. Rolo has been retired
for over a year now but he lines up for the harness every time I go to get
Sherlock harnessed up. This is funny because towards the end of his working
life he would avoid the harness as much as he could. Sherlock stands back
and is happy to let Rolo get harnessed up if he wishes. I have only had
Sherlock for a couple of months and the other day was the first time I left
him at home. Dad was also at home and he said Sherlock sat near the back
door for a bit as if he was waiting for me to realise I had forgotten him
but after a little bit he went off and did his own thing. I wasn't sure how
he would go which is why I was glad that someone else would be at home with
him.

Well better sign off now and go to sleep. I have to get up early tomorrow
for my volunteer work. I help out at the local blind society teaching adults
Braille.

Thank you everyone! Teddy is my pandemic dog. I got him in August 2020 and
Seeing Eye graciously did a home turn over for me. My husband Jimmy has
Multiple Sclerosis and while he is independent, I like to be around to
assist when needed. He uses a cane and does quite well on most days. I
actually enjoyed home training. I could work, could keep the house running,
and Teddy could learn my routine from the beginning. I would be happy to
answer questions from anyone.
