[NAGDU] The status of the NAGDU app, straight from the dog handler's mouth

Hello all, I am starting a new thread so my message does not get lost in
the shuffle of other messages about the NAGDU app. First off, thanks for
writing about the status of the NAGDU app. Personally, I feel that this
is very important considering that many folks rely on the information
provided when traveling and when facing possible discrimination issues.

So, here is full transparency. I dropped the ball. Nobody else did. Not
the board, not anyone mentioned on this list, nobody else except me.
After the transition this past summer when I was elected president,
there were many details of NAGDU that needed attending to. The
subscription of the app has expired and it needs to be redone. I wrote
in a message last November or early December that one of my plans was to
have the app available by the end of the year. Clearly that did not
happen, and so again, I must ask for your understanding and apologies.
The discussion of the app was one of the agenda items in our board
meeting both in November 2020 and just this past week in January 2021.

For those of you who don't know, both my wife and I came down with Covid
in late November and did not get better until early January. Added to
that, all the stuff with the new ACAA ruling happened and I had to
devote energies toward that. I am not saying this to present it as an
excuse, but to give you context as to what is going on because you
deserve to know the truth. Now that the new ACAA ruling has gone into
effect since January 11 and now that things are settling a little, I can
direct more attention to other NAGDU matters that unfortunately got
pushed back slightly. By no means is the app on a back burner, but more
of the middle of the front burner.

So, please know that I have read all the messages concerning this issue
and please know that I am making the app a first priority this month.

Thank you, and please reach out to me or to the board if you have any
questions about this.
