[NAGDU] Confusion Concerning Voting

Good afternoon,
It has come to my attention that I may have created more confusion than I solved by way of my voting messages. I am sorry that this has happened, so I will try to rectify it.
NAGDU Voting.
Hand raising voting was done. If there were phones without names attached, they were not counted. This in no way was meant to keep people out, and we will doubtless handle the situation differently next time.
People were asked to keep their hands raised and the counters would lower them upon completion of the counting. Some people took exception to this method; some may have been kicked out of the meeting and had to re-enter. That, too would have created issues. We had not voted this way before to my knowledge, so the voting here is actually a work in progress.
National Voting. You had to have register for the National Convention by May 31 in order to vote in the convention itself. Even if you were a NAGDU member, you couldn’t vote unless you had done so. Therefore, registering by May 31 for the convention was a necessary component. Several of us, even though you had registered with the convention, received a message that indicated our number which we were using to text or call with, was not on their list. It is something the the National Office is knowledgeable about at this time, but if that happened, then you should let them know. There was a narrow voting window. If you called the number too early by just seconds or too late by just seconds, it will tell you no poll was active at the time.
I am sure Raul will write more information, but I hope this helps.
