[NAGDU] Guide Dog Programs in the States

I am in the process of applying for a dog now through Guide Dogs for the Blind in California. I was told it takes about 9 months from beginning to end when they find a match for you and fly you out to their school for training. Note: they also pay for all vet bills for the dog's life, which is pretty cool. Including flea pills and heart worm pills, both important in Hawaii! I also know their training has changed over the years and is now very positive, actually similar to how I raised my kids when they were 2 years old. Ignore the bad behavior, praise the good. I was spanked as a kid, but did not spank my kids at all. Same like training dogs.
