[NAGDU] Off to class

Here's what happened with the January Guiding Eyes class:
Four students came, at least two of them braving all the trauma of canceled
flights, rescheduled flights, etc.
Two tested positive for Covid upon arrival.
One was able to be picked up by family, but the other had to quarantine in
room 5 days and then fly home--UGH!
I don't think you would have wanted that, either.

Well, turns out I spoke too soon. Me and my big mouth.
They require a PCR test for Covid, which I got last Wednesday, but I haven't
gotten the results. Perhaps it was just a scam set up to enrich someone's
crony. But, even though by now the test means nothing, and even though I
was able to buy an at-home test, which was negative, I can't go to class
until I get the stupid PCR results. I am very upset and very angry. Not
that anyone who could do something about it gives a damn.

Hi, Tracy,

Good luck with your class. I hope you have good--for January--weather, a
great instructor and pleasant classmates, and that you get a wonderful,
sweet, and ready-for-adventure dog. How are they dealing with COVID there
for the class? I can't wait to hear about your bright, shiny new dog and
about your class experience as an "elder" class member.

Incidentally, today is Panda's 21st birthday. We shared an apple as her
birthday treat this morning. I'm so grateful that, after 19 and a half years
of service, she is still eager to work and still an amazing partner. When
the weather or pandemic conditions keep us from ranging too far from home,
she insists on entertaining herself and me by playing fetch games.

Wishing you the best,
Ann

I'm off to The Seeing Eye tomorrow for a 2-week, retrain-only class. I
gather the class will be only maybe 12 people too. I expect they will keep
us busy.

It's cold, and there are chances of snow or freezing rain this weekend. I'd
prefer snow, but I don't get a say. But, at the end of the 2 weeks, I will
have my new, shiny dog ready to go on new adventures.

Wish me luck!

Tracy
