[NAGDU] FYI FW: Uber Pays Millions & Ends Discriminatory Wait Fees to Resolve DOJ Lawsuit

Hello Everyone,

Just chiming in  here with my own thoughts. If this has already been mentioned, my apologies for the duplication. Any time I use a ride share service, I will always send the driver a message informing them that I will need them to identify themselves when they arrive; as I’m blind. This way, if the driver is reading their messages, they will know what to do. I realize that there will be some who have a problem with this, but for me, doing this has been helpful to me, and the drivers also appreciate having a heads up. Obviously, I don’t think that people should inform the driver that they are traveling with a guide dog, but being up front with drivers about them needing to locate you and most important, identify themselves when they arrive is not a bad thing to do in today’s times. I’ve only been charge a wait fee one time, and I was able to get this waived after reaching out to Uber in that case. I think the bottom line is good communication.
