I suppose the first thing I'd say is that it's a team effort. The person
gives directions, and the dog follows them as best it can, looking out for
obstacles and dangers along the way. I'm sure you know this, but a lot of
non-guide dog users don't seem to.

Subject: [NAGDU] Guide Dog information

Hello to all Guide Dog users:

I was asked to speak about Guide Dogs at my Lions Club of Ormond Beach on
8/24/2023.

Any suggestions you think I should mention?

Age or mobility requirements, costs, application and wait times, available
grants or any other specifics?

You can email me directly at

AMedlar1 at gmail.com

I googled Guide dogs in US and here is link outlining guide dog schools by
state:

https://nfb.org/resources/guide-dog-resources

I am on my third guide dog from Guiding Eyes. His name is Frodo and will be
13 years old on 1/26/2024.

Frodo is now retired.
