Oh Shelby, that hurts my heart to hear!
It makes the discrimination I've faced with Uber and Lyft seem tiny!
Here's hoping others who have the experience of student teaching with a guide dog will have some great suggestions for you!

Kind regards,
Susan

Subject: [NAGDU] Student teaching and guide dogs

Hi all,
I am a student in my final semester, completing my multiple subject, teaching credential in California. I have been fighting my school for months now about my student teaching placement. They have taken a very long time to find me a teacher, and when they did, I only spent three days in that classroom and then the teacher. Claimed that they developed a allergy to my guide dog. This was the first time they brought this up to me, but stated they have tried allergy medicine that made them drowsy. They also had decided previously to pet my dog. A quick call to HR and I now once again no longer have a classroom placement for student teaching.

I am very frustrated as all of these things have happened and any advice would be much appreciated.T
