BS’D

Tracy,

According to the instructor it can take all between some months to two years to find a match to me, all depends on the dogs they have in-training at the moment. It is two years since Hera retired and passed away, and even if it is hard, I know that I can survive until they have the right match for me. I trust that G-d has his timing for everything, guide dogs included, and for me, just making the decision and follow it up right now means a lot to me because when I applied in February I was fighting for my life, I am not recovered yet, but I decided then that with G-d’s help, I will recover and live the life I have prayed for since I was a little girl. Right now, it has taken a step back, but you know, that this being on the waiting list, together with some other wishes, keeps me up and makes me to fight even when life is more than difficult. I know which freedom and independence a guide dog will give me and it will be worth the wait.

Kind regards,

I started three applicationin February and decided during the process that Freedom Guide Dogs was the best choice for me and not Guide Dog Foundation nor Seeing Eyes for the Blind, campus trining wouldn’t work for me. I’d my home visit in May and got the letter the official letter two weeks ago that I’m on the waiting list. I’d a good experience and I felt that they understood which kind of guide dog I need, they understood that my mobility and orientation training etc. was different than for an American. The process went very smoothly, and thanks G-d, I also got a good recommendation letter from where I got my first guide dog. Now, I’ll see if they‘ve a guide dog for me this fall or if I need to wait a bit longer. So excited!
