I usually give flea & tick meds starting in March or April, when the weather
starts to get warm, and continue until the first killing frost in the fall.
So, there may be 4 months a year that he won't get it.

Thanks for the info. Yes, I notice that the oral meds are expensive
compared to the collar. Where is the cheapest place to get this? I checked
into Chewy. Also, how long do you give it for? I presume at least 6-9
months starting in spring.

Hi, Annette.

I use Bravecta. It's a pill you give once every three months. My dog
thought it was a treat and had no issues with it.

Very recently the manufacturer introduced a monthly version that does
the same thing. It is significantly cheaper in the short term, about
$25 a dose versus the nearly $80 every three months.

There are more alternatives that come in pill form, or you could try
something topical like Frontline.
