[NAGDU] choosing schools

Leader Dog is absolutely amazing, I have been there twice. I got my O&M training then my Golden 3 months later. I am allergic to raw tomatoes and walnuts, they always made sure anything they prepared for me was separated from anything that was made with walnuts or tomatoes.

On another note, I received a letter from them yesterday that they are no longer using German Shepards due to a high failure rate almost 80% were being re-skilled since 2017. They have a few left but will no longer be breeding them. They are sticking to the Labrador and Golden retrievers in the future. I know a lot of people recently have talked about not wanting a Sheppard..

Leader Dig bent over backwards to meet the dietary wishes of everyone. Food was great. They are in Michigan

But personally, if you are so picky, then I would suggest that you can ask them, but when you finally decide, make sure to bring some food with you and maybe get some food while there. Special diets is one thing, but pickiness is another. So maybe take more responsibility for yourself if you're that picky.

I'm a very picky eater and it's not because of religion/allergies/diatary restrictions it's just the way I am; I know that schools have to accommodate it if you have a specific reason but since it's just the way I am would they still have to accommodate me/do you think they'd be willing to do so? Also, would it be wrong/weird to pick a school based on what the weather tends to be like (I don't mean during training I mean what type of weather the dog was trained in)? Our winters get really cold and we tend to get lots of snow and while I get that no one likes going out in the freezing cold and snow I would want to know that I'd be getting a dog that can handle that type of conditions just the same as I'd think someone who lives somewhere that gets a lot of rain/storms would want to know that their dog would be able to handle it. Look forward to reading any thoughts that anyone has!! Thanks Madison
