[NAGDU] relieving harness

Hi Tracy et al,

My previous dog just wasn’t into the whole circling and it was difficult to get him to hold still. The toileting or relief belt was a god send. I don’t have trouble bending yet but it sure made capture and disposing of the waste much easier. I do not use it with my current working dog, but it might be worth considering. The little devil gets all ready to do her business and then a bird flies by, or a sound happens and she’s distracted. We are working it out but I can recommend them. I would caution that not all dogs like them and you do have to work to transition to it with patience. Nothing is instantaneous in life.

That reminds me, when my husband and I were first dating we went tandem biking. So we were walking sighted guide and he forgot to warn me that a step was coming up which was hard to catch because of the angle of the corner. Without thinking I automatically said “pfui”. He looked at me and said “and I don’t go on command either.”

Unfortunately that gem is walking my dog exclusively for the past six days as I am bed ridden with a bad case of the flu. I will definitely take the vaccine this fall but it’s a little like shutting the door on the barn after the horse has escaped.

Take care all.

Yes, this is really great. The older you get, the harder it is to bend down. My last instructor gave me this when she saw me bending down.

It's a belt that goes around the dog's waist, with clips on the back and the

belly. You attach a bag to it, and the droppings fall into the bag. Great

for dogs who walk and poop, or do it without doing a dance, or for snow.

Also good if you have to relieve the dog in the big city, or an airport, or

anywhere else where a missed turd would upset people. Or for people who

have trouble bending down and feeling around for the prize.

Hi all. I just got a relieving belt and would like some advice on how best

to put it on the dog. He seems to accept it pretty well, so I think it's

worth working with. I'm just not sure how best to fit it for maximum

benefit and his comfort. You can write me off list at paujor at roadrunner.com <mailto:paujor at roadrunner.com>

<mailto:paujor at roadrunner.com> since this is something that might not be

pertinent to others on the list. Thanks in advance.

God bless!
