[NAGDU] relieving harness

Hi all. I was the one who started this whole thread about the relieving harness.  My standard poodle retired guide is 8 years old, and accepted the relieving harness with no problem.  He did turn around a time or two to see what was hanging on his back end, but he pooped with no problem, and it sure saves me having to look for the scattered stuff or stepping in what I missed.  I'm very pleased. 
A good use for those plastic bags.

Hi Al,

Major just had problems with the whole commotion of going to park so we started with the toileting or relieving harness during training. If my memory serves me, he just put it on at first and wore it out to park. We didn't pressure him and he just did it. I would imagine that it is much easier to transition to it when the dog is younger. To the best of my memory, it, like most worthwhile things in life, take time and patience. You might call the training department back and maybe FaceTiming with an instructor on your iPhone because the instructor can see what is going on and may pick up something that is distracting for your dog, or whatever.

BTW, thanks for the bestt wishes for my health. I am feeling better. I actually got to sleep a few hours last night because I coughed less. I still have no voice but I have no temperature and a bit more energy. Garry is beginning to have some symptoms now as well. This is the twelfth day. Garry got the vaccine so he thinks he's smart.

Love that story about your husband.  The only time I remember doing something like that was saying pfui to one of the other dogs in the family when I first got Orin.  Poor Orin came over to me and I apologized and patted him.

Do you have any advice on training the dog to make his deposit in the toileting harness bag?  I tried a few years ago with the phone help of a Seeing Eye instructor, but I didn't tet him to do the job.

Also, I hope you feel better quickly.
