I have two elite field crates. They can be broken down, and could go into baggage on either a train, bus, or plane. The crate itself has handles that you can use to carry it. But additionally, the crate also has its own storage bag which has handles that you can also use for carrying it. it comes in different sizes, and the ones that I have accommodate my 27 inch tall German Shepherd very nicely. If traveling by car or van, it can also fit in a trunk or storage area where luggage would be placed (if driving a van or a sport utility vehicle). I can't remember if I purchased mine from chewy or Amazon. But check both. The crates come in various colors which may or may not make a difference to you one way or the other. But if they do, you do have color options.
