Hi, adding more to this.
If allergies were really an issue, then every passenger who rides a car
would die even if the previous one had a pet at home because guess what,
people aren't allergic to dogs, they are allergic to the dander. Pet owners
who go out to places have this dander on their person even if their pets are
not with them. So, this whole allergy issue is mostly an excuse.
Furthermore, when drivers complain about the visible dog hair, my response
is that they are objecting to what they see. Then I ask if they have ever
wondered what human beings leave behind. If you could only take a UV light
to Uber/Lyft cars, hotel beds, and airport floors, believe me, you would
want to remain blind.

Richard, you got a smile out of me for that one. When drivers have
complained about the mess that dogs leave in their car I have been known to
ask rather innocently, "you mean that you have never had a passenger get
sick in your car or make other messes?"

The latest complaint that I'm hearing is that the drivers believe that they
can be sued by a passenger who later rides in their car because they have an
allergy to dogs. I told them that, unless they advertise as being allergy
proof or something like that they couldn't be expected to be allergy free.
It's all an excuse.
