Importance: High

Good afternoon,

Last time we met I spoke about reassessing my status in the search process.
I was reminded that the job search process is the same as any other
important search. Preparation is key to success. The stories of those lost
in seeking the Lost Dutchman's gold mine in the Superstition Mountains of
Arizona is a perfect example. And today with a GPS I shouldn't get lost but
I still need the to be prepared.

What is the food, water, clothing, weather, map, location, terrain, season
of the year, etc. of the job search process?

Where am I versus where I want to be?

Who are thee specific employers I would like to work with?

Can I tell each of those employers why I want to work with them?

What do I bring to each, that is specific to specific to that employer?

What do I know about each employer that is relevant to the needs of that
employer, and that I can contribute to helping improve, grow or change,
based on the employer's needs?

Does my documentation, including resumes (plural), biographies, LinkedIn
Profile, Facebook page, etc. tell the person looking at any of those
documents what I bring to their tables?

Have I looked at employers outside of the circle of my immediate
experiences?

Are my "sound bites" simple, direct, to the point of the listener's
interest, and do they come from the heart or from memory?

What is my mannor and my attitude throughout the whole time of my search
process? (Folks have lost opportunities because of what they were viewed
doing outside of the actual interview process.)

See you in two.
