Come join the Job Club! The NFBMD Employment Committee is pleased to invite
you to a job Club zoom call from 7:00 to 8:30 pm on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.
The June topic is entitled: "How To Stay Motivated When searching for
employment" and is open to People looking for employment, individuals
seeking current job upward mobility, those wishing to help blind people look
for employment, and any other interested parties.
Discussion in the first call will focus on: learning a new skill, setting
goals and celebrating them, getting organized with a personal job search
plan, and finding a mentor/partner, with whom you can support each other and
share victories.
Registration is required. Send an e-mail to Judy Rasmussen at
judyras at sprynet.com by Friday, May 31. The zoom link will be sent once you
have registered. We look forward to getting to know you and helping you
through your job search. We want to share in your struggles and victories.
Your NFBMD Employment Committee

Hi Pam and Janice,
I have finally written a draft of the job seeker call announcement. I know
we talked about having people register at the NFBMD employment committee
address. I thought it would be easier to put my name on it, then I could
keep track of who has been sent the zoom link etc. I will be home Monday
and Tuesday evenings. I am going to a conference Wednesday through Friday. I
will be available in the evenings to talk though.

The National Federation of the Blind of Maryland knows that blindness is not
the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back
