Many of you may remember<br>Marsha from her long service on the National Center staff and as the reader<br>for the Resolutions Committee. Marsha was a long-time member of the Greater<br>Baltimore Chapter and a founding and lifetime member of the NFBMD TLC<br>Chapter. She will be dearly missed.<br><br> <br><br>I spoke with her son Frank today, and he is coping as well as anyone can<br>when losing a parent over the holidays. He shares that services will be<br>planned after the holidays. The clinic<br>will take place at the National Federation of the Blind Jernigan Institute.<br>This clinic has been organized due to the inaccessibility of some online<br>vaccination scheduling platforms. <br><br> <br><br>The Department of Health will be furnishing all three vaccines, and<br>individuals may choose which one they prefer while supplies last.<br>Individuals 12 years and older are eligible, but age may impact which<br>vaccine an individual may be eligible to receive.<br><br> <br><br>Those interested in receiving a vaccine must schedule an appointment in<br>advance. They should contact both me (President@nfbmd.org<br><mailto:President@nfbmd.org> or 443-426-4110) and Tammy Helm (thelm@nfb.org<br><mailto:thelm@nfb.org> or 410-659-9314, Extension 2291) on or before<br>January 5, 2022 to request a vaccination slot. Their appointment is not<br>scheduled until they receive confirmation. Vaccination slots will be<br>scheduled on a first come first serve basis. Appointment slots will be for<br>a thirty minute window sometime between 9 AM and 2 PM. No walk-ins will be<br>accommodated. Priority will be given to members and staff of the National<br>Federation of the Blind, individuals with disabilities, and those working in<br>or with the disability community. Where slots remain available, those<br>eligible will be scheduled to receive the vaccine.<br><br> <br><br>We are also seeking staff and volunteers to assist at the vaccine clinic.<br>NFB staff should contact Tammy Helm, and members who are not on staff should<br>contact me. Please let us know by January 5, 2022 if you are able to work<br>the clinic.<br><br> <br><br>Individuals receiving the vaccine should plan to bring copies of their<br>health insurance cards if they have coverage. No one will be refused a<br>vaccine due to not having health insurance. Individuals will also have to<br>review and sign a consent form. We will try to share an electronic version<br>of the consent form with those whose vaccination appointments are scheduled<br>and confirmed, and human readers will be available to assist on site. <br><br> <br><br>Any requests for reasonable accommodations, other than assistance completing<br>vaccination consent forms, should be requested by January 5, 2022.
