Dear Friends,

Bridge II Sports will be hosting a Paralympic Sports Academy for the
Blind in conjunction with the US Paralympics.  Bridge II Sports will
be running a two day event on June 4th and 5th at the Governor
Morehead School in Raleigh, NC.  The sport events we will be teaching
are Track and Field, Judo, Tandem Cycling and Goal Ball.

On June 4th we will be hosting a Train the Trainer.  This day is
directed towards those who are coaching within the school system (no
limit here, grade school to college) or those who may be interested in
coaching people with vision loss.  We invite track students to get
involved as well.  We will need many volunteers on the 5th to keep all
the activities going safely.  The US Paralympic Reps., will be helping
teach best practices, tips for success and how to adaptive the
different sports.

June 5th will be the day that we invite participants to join in
learning the sports.  Each participant will rotate through the four
sports mentioned above and learn the beginning skills.  This is open
to children 8 and above.  We will have participants divided into age
appropriate groups as they rotate through each sport. We also have a
Paralympic Athlete who is competes in Track and Field, in the
Blind/Low vision classification, speaking to us.

This is a free event.  The Lion’s Club of Durham and several community
eye doctors have donated funds to make this happen.  Lunch will be
provided as well.  Registration is required for both days.  There are
a limited number of spaces both days.  Please get your information in
by June 1st.
