[Ncabs] NFB of NC State Convention Friday Night

I really like the movie idea. The only thing I have against it is that
it wouldn't give time for us to really socialize, but it is definitely
a great idea!

I really like the open mic idea. We would have to see if there is a
way to hook up a computer for music, and if we went the karaoke route,
we would have to get music, and that could be interesting. We could
make it like a play your own music/a cappella/poetry thing. If we do
this, I think we should advertise a lot beforehand so people come
prepared with the things they will need such as poems, instruments,
etc. I think we should have snacks and drinks. We would then have to
see the hotel's policy about bringing in food, but in the past no
problems have arisen from our pizza lunch.

I suggested a restaurant/bar so everyone could be included. I agree
with not wanting to send the wrong message, but NABS has had several
events where alcohol was present, but I highly doubt we could even
begin to afford to have a bar at any event we host which is why I
suggested the restaurant/bar thing.

But I think the movie/open mic ideas are 2 things we could definitely
work with. The movie might be easier logistically except we'd have to
find a projector screen for these who would be able to see the movie,
and the open mic would be better for socializing, but we would have to
work out sound and probably more food/ drink (even if they aren't
alcoholic) options.
