Dear NCABS members and leaders,

As mentioned before, the NFB of NC is visiting the state legislature tomorrow. I am forwarding Lusi Radford's confirmation email and also an earlier email with directions for tomorrow.

Good luck! I'd much rather be going to the legislature with you all than taking a summer class. :)

Justin

Subject: we're still on for tomorrow

Hi Guys. I have just checked the Senate calendar. Our meeting is still scheduled at 8:30 tomorrow morning. And all our position papers are ready to be delivered. Please join us if you can.

#####################EARLIER MESSAGE##############################

Hi Guys.

My computer has been down for about forty-eight hours, but I'm back again. Apparently in my earlier message I failed to say that the DHHS Appropriations Committee meeting is at 8:30 A.M. Afterward we have position papers to distribute through both legislative buildings. I know of a few folks that are coming, but the more the merrier. First we'll attend the meeting and then we will divide into groups to distribute the papers. The more people come the quicker these papers can be distributed.

The meeting will be in room 643 of the Legislative Office Building located at 300 North Salisbury Street. There are two ways to enter the building. There are steps that come down to a right angle at the corner of North Salisbury and Lane. You may clime up these and enter on either the second or third floor. My favorite way is to walk down Lane a few feet to the left of the steps and walk up the ramp. This takes you to the entrance on the second floor. The elevators are down the hall on the left. When you reach the sixth floor turn left and walk to the end of the hall. You will be at the door. There are several rows of chairs to your left and right when you go in. What the committee says about our issues will determine exactly what we say when we deliver the position papers.

Let's give our elected officials a day to remember--a day when they get up close and personal with blind folks. Please remember to dress in your best and bring your company manners with you. This combination makes a very good impression on the people in the buildings.

If you have any further questions please email or call. Phone numbers: 919-851-4817 or 919-341-6526.

Until Tuesday,
Lusi
