Hello NCABS

Project Starfish is developing an internship for students called Business
GAINS. See the following information for more information. Fil free to share
with other students.

We at Project Starfish America are developing an internship program for
students called Business GAINS (Business Global Advocacy Initiative Network
for Students with Disabilities). This program will allow blind and visually
impaired students to grow their business acumen, professional skill set, to
participate in business-related projects and business-related experience -
all with the hope of finding employment.

We're a virtual, global nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the
lives of the blind and visually impaired through utilizing an experiential
platform of social and economic change. For decades, the percentage of the
unemployed blind in the United States has remained close to 80%. Despite
either attending some college or graduating with an undergraduate or
postgraduate degree, many in this population are passed over by employers
because they lack experience in the professional arena.

Project Starfish works with start-ups and small and medium businesses by
assisting them with tasks such as business research, writing content for
their websites or blogs, social media and other virtual tasks, where all
that's needed to complete them is a computer with an internet connection.
Rather than Project Starfish receiving payment for services rendered, our
customers negotiate and pay our members directly.

We invite you to share this information with any blind and visually impaired
student(s) you may know. We are putting together a limited, virtual focus
group of ambitious, IT-savvy and determined students. This program will
provide Internship and Work experience and employment skills training. Only
20 students will be accepted into this focus group that will begin in June
2015. To participate, your students must have a beginning to intermediate
knowledge of their computer's operating system and assistive technology. To
be considered, students will go through various skills assessment tests
and an interview process with some of our managers.

If you have any questions about the program, or you'd like to recommend a
student, please don't hesitate to contact us at:

with "Business GAINS" in the subject line.

Subject: [Ncabs] Super awesome new app for iPhone and Android!

Dear Student

In the frame of his Ph.D. project Martin Dorigo developed a novel system for
reading and editing structured documents in a non-visual way on mobile and
wearable devices. This App is called DOKY and it is available for Apple
iPhone, iPad and Android devices!

DOKY provides you amongst others the following 3 unique key features:

 1. A fast overview over the document structure 2. A fast skim and scan
over the document content 3. Move, remove and insert elements and text

He would like to invite you to test his system. It will take you 15 minutes
only:

 1. Please go to the Apple AppStore or Android PlayStore and search for
DOKY (written with Y).
Or use the following links:
http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/doky/id975186203
http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ch.dorigo.doky
 2. Install and start the DOKY app
 3. Follow the spoken instructions

In order to reach significant results the participation of a lot of people
is required. May I ask you to forward this message to many others.

Please test DOKY until April 30th 2015. With your valuable assistance the
reading and editing of structured documents will be revolutionized!

Thank you so much and kind regards
