Next Meeting
We will be holding our next monthly meeting of the National Federation of
the Blind of North Dakota on Saturday, November 18, 2017; time: 2:00 PM at
Happy Joe's Pizza and Ice Cream, 2211 South University Drive.
For those who are unable to make the meeting and or live too far outside of
Fargo, you can join us by phone by dialing (712) 832-8300 and enter 9381122
#, and state your name.
If you are arranging transportation with MAT Paratransit, I suggest that you
schedule your pick-up time accordingly so that you have enough time to order
something from the menu before the meeting starts. We will end the meeting
by 4 PM so schedule your return trip accordingly.
Now, if you missed our last meeting, we had about 10 people present. We are
beginning a series of seminar on the Brand and Philosophy of the National
Federation of the Blind and this is being led by Jesse Shirek who earlier
this year was sent to Baltimore, the NFB Headquarters to attend a seminar on
Communication. These sessions will last as long as it takes him to cover the
various topic areas that he needs to cover and we are basically giving a
hour for him to conduct this portion of the meeting.
Should you have questions, please contact President Milton Ota at (701)
731-0511 or by e-mail at mota1252 at gmail.com <mailto:mota1252 at gmail.com>
Cardtronics testing
I would like to thank the Fargo Lion and the NDSU Campus Bluc Lion that help
drive both Jesse and Sherry Shirek to complete the testing of 11 different

by the deadline of October 15 to get a free copy of the KNFB ReaderR to give
away at our next state convention which won't be until sometime in September
of 2018.

THE NATIONAL FEDERATION OF THE BLIND KNOWS THAT BLINDNESS IS NOT THE
CHARACTERISTIC THAT DEFINES YOU OR YOUR FUTURE. EVERY DAY WE RAISE THE
EXPECTATIONS
OF BLIND PEOPLE, BECAUSE LOW EXPECTATIONS CREATE OBSTACLES BETWEEN BLIND
PEOPLE AND OUR DREAMS. YOU CAN LIVE THE LIFE YOU WANT; BLINDNESS IS NOT WHAT
HOLDS
YOU BACK. THE NATIONAL FEDERATION OF THE BLIND IS NOT AN ORGANIZATION
SPEAKING FOR THE BLIND--IT IS THE BLIND SPEAKING FOR OURSELVES.
With Love, Hope and Determination, We Turn Dreams Into Reality.
Together We Change What It Means to Be Blind.
