[ND-Talk] National Federation of the Blind ND state convention 2020 goes virtual

Greetings federation family and friends! 

 

It is my pleasure to extend a warm welcome to all of you to attend this
year's National Federation of the Blind of North Dakota annual state
convention! 

 

This year's National Federation of the Blind of North Dakota 2020 Convention
goes virtual. Due to the concerns and unpredictability of the COVID
pandemic, the convention committee decided that it would be best to host via
the zoom platform. This also gives people the opportunity to attend the
convention who would not ordinarily attend our convention! We will have
guests from different regions around the country. Our convention is open to
anyone and everyone. 

Dates: September 11 - 12, 2020 via Zoom 

this year's National Representative for President Mark Riccobono is Gary
Wonder, a longtime federationist from Missouri and editor of the Braille
Monitor.  

 

Some of our NFB guest speakers include

*	Pamela Allen, NFB First Vice President
*	Scott White, Director of NFB Newsline 
*	Carlton Ann Cook Walker, President National Organization of Parents
of blind Children 
*	Ryan Strunk President NFB Minnesota
*	Jennifer Kennedy, Director BLIND Inc. 
*	Michael Hingson, NFB longtime member, author, survivor of the 911
attacks and his story how he and his guide dog Roselle guided groups of
people out of the first tower. 

Mike's been up to some new projects he'd like to share. 

 

We will hear from some North Dakota friends

*	Quincie Mattick, former ND resident who is in her 2nd year of
college on the move with her guide dog Tessa! 
*	Paxton Franke will give us a few words about his first NFB
convention as a national college scholarship recipient. 
*	Amber Kraft will tell us about her new business partnership

Services/School for the Blind
*	Aimee Volk, Vocational Rehabilitation Administrator for Vision
Services
