We are seeking financial support to fund a commercial bus that will travel from Omaha,  Nebraska to Deadwood, South Dakota for the Black Hills Ski for Light Event in January.  Check out the webs ite describing the event at www.bhsfl.org .  The bus will make several stops along the way to pick up individuals who are blind or physically challenged who would like to participate in the 5 day event.

As organizers of the bus transportation we can tell you first hand that this program which is designed to give blind and physically challenged individuals the opportunity to participate in outdoor activities is like no other. We want to share this experience with others and have found that the biggest reason for not participating is due to the inability to find and afford transportation to attend the event. The idea of funding a bus to accommodate participants is not a new one as both North Dakota and South Dakota have provided busses through the support of organizations and businesses in their States. We would like to provide this bus not just to Nebraskans but to the Midwestern States South of Deadwood.

Fontenelle tours of Council Bluffs, Iowa has graciously offered their services free of charge to help us organize the bus transportation. Arrow Bus Line has also generously cut the cost of the bus travel and is providing a bus equipped with a wheelchair lift for the round trip travel as well as inner city travel once we are there. We need to raise $6,000 to fill the gap to fund this travel. We would be greatly appreciative if you could assist us as a financial supporter of this project.
