**February Meeting & Treasurer's Reports:

National Federation of the Blind of Nebraska

Senior Division

February 15, 2016 Meeting

The February 2016 meeting was called to order at 7:04 PM (CT). In
attendance: President Robert Newman, VP Barbara Loos, Secretary Karen
Lemmon, Treasurer Cheryl Livingston. Board member Becky McCullough and
members: Brad Loos, Bob Riley, Nancy Oltman, Geralyn Konruff, Linda Mentink.
Also guests Walter Hively and Della Johnson.

The NFB Pledge was recited

Secretary Lemmon using JAWS read the Secretary and Treasurer's report from
January. The motion to approve the secretary's minutes was made by Geralyn
and seconded by Linda. Motion carried.

Treasurer Livingston gave the financial report which was reported with a
balance of $834.95 with only one check of $10 written during the month and
no deposits. Becky motioned that the Treasurer's minutes be approved as read
Karen seconded. Motion carried unanimously.

President Newman asked Cheryl Livingston if the approval of the revised
Senior Division Constitution by the NFBN State Board had been on the agenda
at the January State Board Meeting. Cheryl did not recall that this topic
was on the agenda but agreed to follow up with State President Buresh; in
March of 2015, a revised constitution of the Division, was sent for
approval, and we've not heard back.

The philosophical topic was blindness skills and tricks for cooking.
Discussion of measuring ingredients, types of cooking stoves, frying chicken
and browning hamburger were included in the discussion.

Barbara gave an explanation of the Bell program for the benefit of the new
participants to the call.

Cheryl also reported that the NFBN State convention would be held on the
weekend of October 9, 2016 at the Riverside Inn in Columbus Nebraska.
Further details concerning the Convention will be announced at future phone
meetings of the Senior Division.

President Newman covered the process for becoming a member of the Senior
Division; dues are $10.00 per year, a subscription to the NFB's "Braille
Monitor." In addition, he commented that our monthly meetings via
tele-conferencing could be attended by anyone and membership is not a
requirement; a great way to allow a prospective member to view what we are
all about.

Brags and Drags included the accomplishments of members as to their New Year
plans to better themselves.

President Newman encouraged continuing membership recruitment.

The next meeting will be the third Monday in January.

There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 8:02 (CT).

Respectfully submitted

Karen Lemmon

NFBN Senior Division Secretary
