Happy Christmas Friends and Countrymen—and Countrywomen too I suppose.
I am wishing each of you a splendid Christmas filled with joy and cheer,
And time spent with those you hold most dear!
Robert I thank you for your wonderful story about Boot and Bonnet! Now that we know the Queen gave the world those words I suppose we shall need to show a bit more respect to the Brits and their automobiles. I think the strangest word they have is “Laury” for a truck! What in the world is a truck doing with the same name as that we use for sweet baby girls?
Blessings to each of you as we celebrate the Lord’s Birthday!
Chris

Happy Or Merry Christmas, Youal!
Note- Where we in the US say- Merry Christmas, the English say- Happy Christmas. Yeah, the difference between what the USA and UK voice the Christmas greeting, is not a big deal, it reminds me of what an Englishman once said to me- We were talking about cars and I said something like- “You know, we invented the car and where we call the cover over the engine the hood, you guys say bonnet. And where we call the storage area at the rear of the car the trunk, you renamed it to be the boot!” And he answered- “Oh yes dear chap, you may have invented the automobile, we invented the language!”
