The guest speaker was </span><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif'>Rosalee Sheppard, of the Alzheimer’s Association, Midland Chapter. Ms. Sheppard spoke about Alzheimer’s, a type of dementia, that is so common among older individuals. After giving an overview of the disease, Ms. Sheppard emphasized the importance of healthy living and exercise to aid in blood flow to the brain to assure good brain health. Ms. Sheppard led discussions concerning being a care giver for a person with Alzheimer’s as well as where to find assistance in dealing with the disease. Ms. Sheppard gave some tips in recognizing Dementia. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif'> The last half hour concerned the keeping and reporting of minutes of the regular monthly meetings and also the Board meetings of the Senior Division. A motion was made, seconded and carried that the next meeting would be a meeting of the Board in December and final decisions on meeting reports would be made. The next monthly call for the members will be in January.
