I downloaded the Eclipse Soundscape a few days ago and it is very cool. Word to the wise, It will let you experience all of the aspects of the eclipse right away by going to the My Eclipse section; but, at least on my Iphone, I had to turn off voiceover once I got to the phase of the eclipse I wanted to view, in order to experience the vibrations. I would be curious about whether anyone else has experienced this problem. A special app, available through iTunes, uses an interactive rumble map customized to the viewer's location. The Soundscapes app will geolocate you and start the narration to align with the planetary movements as they occur from your local vantage point. The specialized imaging description techniques making this possible were developed by the National Center for Accessible Media (NCAM), a part of television station WGBH of Boston, Massachusetts. . Other partners in the Eclipse Soundscapes project are the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory (H.E.C.) and the National Park Service.
