Kathy was a valued member of the NCBVI team forapproximately 16 years. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal> <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Just to share a few highlights of Kathy’s impact on members of the blind community. Kathy was a licensed RN prior to participating in center training. She completed training at our Orientation center in Lincoln as a client and then went right back through training after being hired as an Orientation counselor. She worked as an Orientation and Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor during her tenor at NCBVI. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal> <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Kathy was a wonderful role model for blind professionals and consumers alike. She promoted positive belief in blindness and encouraged others to set high standards for themselves. Kathy was a member of the Omaha Association of the Blind and participated in activities such as the Omaha Triathlon and she obtained her certification in the One Touch self-defense program. Many of you have your personal experiences with Kathy that you could hold on to during this time of loss. We will miss her however her impact will always be remembered. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal> <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>We will share any information regarding funeral arrangements when we receive them.
