A celebration of life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, April 12 at the Omaha National cemetery with a gathering to follow at the Springfield Community Center. Passed away unexpectedly on August 4, 2024. He was the first child of Hector & Gloria (Yager) Alvarado. He grew up in and around El Paso, Tx. He proudly served eight years in the US Air Force and served during the first Gulf War in 1990 as Inventory Management Specialist. He then worked for the Nebraska Fed Ex office until a U.S. Post Office position became available. Oscar married Sandra Hecker-Heesch on July 11, 2002 in Las Vegas, NV. Once he retired from the U.S. Post Office, he then worked with his wife in many of the local federal buildings and Offutt Air Force Base with her vending machine business. Oscar had many hobbies he liked to do which were his collections of Bennie Baby’s, Hot Wheel cars and Baseball cards. He also enjoyed watching and rooting for his teams Notre Dame and Dallas Cowboys football. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt'>Oscar is preceded in death by his parents Hector & Gloria Alvarado and one daughter Mary Lou from a previous relationship.
