Alli,
I've done some flying both on my own and with others. I'm pretty sure I flew on Delta when I went to Californial on my own last year. It helps if you check in early cause it saves time. They were great. They came and showed me the procedures and they were really gracious about it. I just acted like I was another passenger on the flight. What I did was I requested assictance. I got off my flight at my layover and asked the person behind the desk for directions to get to my next gate. Try that. As for the cane, use whichever you feel more comfortable with. If you use your straight cane, they'll take it and put it in storage for you and give it back to you when you get off. If you use your folding one, then you can simply fold it and have it sitting in your lap or next to you or in your backpack. As for finding people, try contacting someone in advance and telling them where to meet you. Then ask for directions to get to your meeting place. That's what I did. My mom told me where my unlce would meet me cause I didn't know how the heck I was gonna find him since I hadn't seen him in months. And they should be able to find you pretty quick if your using your cane. That's about all the advice I can give from my experience. Other than that, good luck and have fun!
