Good Morning Federation Family:
This email summarizes the various Washington Seminar topics that were
discussed on President Riccobono’s all affiliate presidents call last
week. First,
we are back to a fully in-person Washington Seminar for 2023. While
the House and Senate are still requiring escorts to move around the
buildings, virtually
all offices are accepting in-person meetings. We will not be
restricting how many people you include in your delegation and, in
fact, we urge you to bring
your regular full delegation.
As far as COVID-19 protocols, we will be requiring all participants to
wear a mask for the general training meeting that will occur at the
hotel on Monday,
January 30, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and for the Great Gathering-In
that will occur that same day from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. We will not
be requiring
masks at any other times but members are welcome to wear masks if they
like. The District of Columbia, the hotel, and Congress do not require
masks but
there is a chance that some individual Congressional offices might. We
will also not be requiring vaccination or testing before you come to
Washington,
but both are suggested. Anyone who is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms
should test themselves, and if positive cancel their trip. If you
begin to experience
symptoms and test positive while already in Washington, we suggest
that you quarantine in your hotel room.
Please make your hotel reservations as soon as possible. Our hotel
block expires on December 27, 2022. If you are having any problems
making your reservation,
please contact Kyle Walls at
kwalls at nfb.org
or 410-659-9314, extension 2223.
To book a room, please use our
booking link
or call 877-834-3613 and use group code NB8.
Room rates:
Single - $109 per night
Double - $129 per night
(Room rates do not include 14.95 percent District of Columbia sales tax)
We will most likely be announcing the Washington Seminar issues the
week of December 5 and the fact sheets should be available in early
January.
We will be having a series of Zoom training sessions, the first of
which will be an issues training session that will likely be conducted
during week of December
12.
Along with the other meetings the afternoon and evening of Monday,
January 30, all affiliate presidents and legislative directors are
invited to attend
an in-depth training, Monday, January 30, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at
the Holiday Inn.
Additionally, we are planning to have a Congressional Reception the
evening of Tuesday, January 31. All attendees are invited to attend
this reception.

I am thrilled that we will be back in person for the 2023 Washington
