National Federation of the Blind of Nevada Upcoming October 2024 Meetings
and Events



The NFB of Nevada has a full slate of in person and virtual online meetings
and events this October.
White Cane Safety Day

In observance of the freedom and independence the white cane brings to
blind people everywhere with events taking place all over the world, and in
celebration of Blind Equality Achievement Month, as well as White Cane
Awareness Month, the National Federation of the Blind of Nevada has a slate
of activities planned in October for this occasion.


Legislative Meeting

October 1st

Nye County Chapter Meeting

October 9th 12:30pm till 1:30pm

Join the members of the Southern Nye Chapter at the Pahrump Senior Center

Las Vegas Chapter White Cane Walk

October 12th 10pm-1:00pm

Downtown Container Park

Overview: Socialization, introduce organizations, navigation obstacle
course, walk, and raffle.



October 15th National Presidential Release online

Join the meeting online, on YouTube, your Amazon Echo using the NFB skill
or many other platforms

Northern Nevada Chapter White Cane Safety Day

Saturday October 19.

Time: 9:30AM.

Place: Virginia Lake Park in Reno.

At the pavilion across Lakeside Drive from the Lake.

The chapter will be joining the WCSD Teachers of the visually impaired and
blind students on their white cane Walk.

A proclamation will be read on location by a city official.

there will be banners, and a press release mentioning the NFB, and the WCSD
presence.

The walkway is a very accessible walkway with wide paths and quite level,
the full circle around the lake is about 1 mile.

There will be assistants available.

After the walk we plan to meet at a diner to be announced on location.

Saturday October 19th 10pm-2:00pm.

Pahrump, Nevada 89048.

Activities: White Cane Walk, Raffle, Music and more.
