<p style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; font-family: ".SF UI"; font-size-adjust: none; font-kerning: auto; font-variant-alternates: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-position: normal; font-feature-settings: normal; font-optical-sizing: auto; font-variation-settings: normal; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><span style="font-family: ".SFUI-Regular";">One excellent option is to go to your early voting polling location in person and bring your absentee ballot to surrender. When you arrive, let the poll workers know that you want to use the accessible voting machine. Each location is required to have two machines set up and ready to use. If you use a white cane, you may need to explain this to them and remind them that you need the audio settings enabled on the machine. By asking them to do this before you insert your voting card, the process will be smooth, and they won’t have to start over.</span></p>

<p style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; font-family: ".SF UI"; font-size-adjust: none; font-kerning: auto; font-variant-alternates: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-position: normal; font-feature-settings: normal; font-optical-sizing: auto; font-variation-settings: normal; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><span style="font-family: ".SFUI-Regular";">Unfortunately, in some locations, the machines may not be set up beforehand, but don’t let that discourage you. If this happens, firmly but politely remind the poll workers that you will not be receiving assistance from them or anyone else, and that they need to set up the machine immediately. If they need guidance, they can contact the county’s registrar of voters for support. It is particularly helpful if you go early in the voting period, as this ensures that the machines will be properly set up for others who may not be aware of these options. Personally, I like to go on the first day of early voting, today, October 19, around midday to ensure the poll workers have time to set things up before the end of the day.</span></p>
