We have not been able to offer scholarships lately because the previous chairs did not have the needed sighted help. Marie appointed Sandy, who had volunteered, to run the committee. Time is short, but she will see what she can accomplish.

We originally originated scholarships when we received the legacy from Floyd Callward in 1988, and named it after him. (We named a small scholarship after deceased former NFBNH president, Theresa Herron.) This year we will only offer the Callward scholarship, $1000, open to any high school senior, college or graduate or professional school student, who is legally blind. Sandy is preparing an application form, which will require an accompanying official transcript of past work and an official statement from Blind Services, a doctor, or other recognized official that the student is legally blind. More details will appear when they are ready.

Saturday's board meeting will have to authorize the expenditure of the $1000 prize and any expenses in distributing and processing applications.

Judy, do you or does anyone else have any old forms or other materials Sandy can copy. Louis sent her an Herron application and several examples of covering letters to guidance counselors, etc.

Best, Ed Meskys
