Hello everyone:
I have a member who lives in Rockland County, Judith, who has a question, and not sure how to answer it.
So here it is:
It has nothing to do with Long Island, I live in Rockland. I was wondering if the rubber/plastic mats on newly constructed street corners with raised surfaces on them were a town kindness to the blind or if they are now a mandated part of newly constructed sidewalks from New York state.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can have the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.
