Hello everyone,

We are a group of researchers from the Enhancing Ability Lab at Cornell Tech, Cornell University's new campus located in NYC. Our lab is working on assistive technologies. Currently, we are working on developing always-available interaction technologies to make it safer and easier for people with visual impairments to access information on the go. We are seeking participants for one of our user studies that will help us develop these technologies. The study will only consist of one session. Please see below for details about the study.

Objective: Study and improve how blind people use their mobile phones on the go.

Participation criteria: Must be at least 18 years old, and regularly use smartphones with screen readers (e.g., TalkBack or VoiceOver). All tasks in the study should be low excursion.

Duration: Approximately 1-2 hours.

Location: 111 8th Ave, New York, NY 10011

Compensation: As a token of our appreciation, all participants will be compensated with $30 in cash. We will additionally pay up to $30 for transportation expenses if participants require assistance with transportation to the location of the study and provide us with a receipt.

Contact: Please contact us at cf422 at cornell.edu (Catherine Feng) to schedule a time if you are interested in participating, and/or have questions about the user study. Times are flexible.

We look forward to meeting with you and learning from your experiences!

Best,
