Subject: We want blind and visually impaired parents in New York to participate in our national survey of parents with disabilities!!!
Dear Mr. Robinson and the NFB of New York,
My name is Connie Conley-Jung, and I am a blind parent currently working at a nonprofit organization, Through the Looking Glass, in Berkeley, California. We are conducting a federally funded national study which includes surveying and interviewing parents of young children (under age 6) to learn more about current parenting strategies and resources used or needed by parents with physical and visual disabilities. I am inviting and enthusiastically encouraging my fellow blind and visually impaired parents to participate in our study. Input from blind parents across the country will help our organization to develop and teach people about resources and educational materials for parents and caregivers, occupational therapists and other professionals and service providers.
Please help us spread the word about this important study! If the NFB of New York community can share information about our study, please let me know if there is another person we should connect with and a process we should follow. If you know of any blind or visually impaired parents, grandparents or other caregivers of young children who might be interested, feel free to share this information with them as well.
Thank you for your time and consideration!
Through the Looking Glass has a 40-year history of providing services and resources to support families with disabilities across the lifespan, from infancy through grandparenthood. We are guided by personal disability experience and disability culture. You can learn more about our organization and this study by visiting our website at www.lookingglass.org <http://www.lookingglass.org/> or by contacting our project manager, Stacy Frauwirth, at TLGresearch at lookingglass.org <mailto:TLGresearch at lookingglass.org> or (510) 225-7519. I have also included my contact information below in this email.
With much gratitude,
Connie Conley-Jung, Ph.D.
