Subject: End-of-year Update for the 2024 Washington Seminar

Dear State Presidents and Legislative Directors:

Today is December 29, and that means there is exactly one month until the Great Gathering-In, so it seemed like an ideal time to send out an end-of-year update regarding the 2024 Washington Seminar.

The room block that we requested from the Holiday Inn Washington Capitol – National Mall is completely full, and it seems as though the hotel itself is completely full on the night of Monday, January 29. While we are ecstatic about the turnout for the 2024 Washington Seminar (we may be witnessing record attendance), it does create some logistical issues for anyone who may still need to reserve a room. If you have not been able to secure a room, please contact Lindsey Walsh at lwalsh at nfb.org <mailto:lwalsh at nfb.org> and she will help to suggest other hotel accommodations in the area.

Our first of four Washington Seminar trainings throughout the month of January will be next Wednesday, January 3 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. The training will be conducted via Zoom and will focus on our three legislative priorities for the 2024 Washington Seminar: the Websites and Software Applications Accessibility Act, the Medical Device Nonvisual Accessibility Act, and the Blind Americans Return to Work Act. This meeting is open to everyone, and we strongly encourage you to review the fact sheets (available on the Washington Seminar Page <https://nfb.org/programs-services/advocacy/washington-seminar> in both Word and HTML formats) before the training. The Zoom information for the January 3 training is:

The schedule for the remaining three training sessions is below. All trainings will take place at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.

Tuesday, January 9 – Mock Meeting Training #1

Thursday, January 11 – Washington Seminar Portal Training

Tuesday, January 16 – Mock Meeting Training #2

Thank you all for a wonderful 2023. I look forward to seeing all of you in DC next month, and an even better 2024.

Be great,

Kyle
