I am writing to give an update on our progress for our issues in Albany.
For the Albany seminar, we had 2 weeks of many in person and virtual
meetings with NY state senators, assembly members and their staff. Most of
our meetings were held on March 4, 5, 11 and 12.

The bill to extend paratransit (called different names in different parts of
the state) service in the NY Assembly is A4165. It is sponsored by Assembly
member Steck. It now has 31 cosponsors and 1 multisponsor. The recent
cosponsors are Assembly members Gunther, Burdick, Gallahan, Lemondes,
Pirozzolo and Hevesi. The multisponsor is Assemblywoman Giglio. The
paratransit bill in the NY senate is S4739. It is sponsored by Senator
Kennedy. It now has 18 cosponsors. The recent cosponsor is Senator
Palumbo.

The bill relating to RFP (Request for Proposal), which would require
accessibility in certain procurement contracts is A3425 in the NY Assembly.
It is sponsored by Assembly member Pretlow. It currently has 16 cosponsors
and 1 multisponsor. The recent cosponsors are Assembly members Gunther,
Burdick, Stirpe, Meeks, Dickens, Lemondes and Hevesi. The multisponsor is
Assemblywoman Giglio. This bill in the NY senate is S6279. It is sponsored
by Senator Sepulveda. It has 11 cosponsors. Senator Lanza and Palumbo are
recent cosponsors.

The accessible voting bill in the NY senate is S2892. It is sponsored by
Senator Myrie. It still has only 3 cosponsors. There is no identical bill
in the NY Assembly. Chris Minkler, co-legislative director.
