Hi All,

 

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding ending the payment of subminimum wages. Yesterday after many years of advocating for it, the Dignity and Pay Act (HB793) passed the full Illinois General Assembly and will soon head to their Governor for consideration. This is wonderful news and congrats to our Illinois affiliate on this wonderful work.

 

We need to keep up the great work at the State level on this topic and with many State legislatures starting their next sessions in a few months, I wanted to pass along the attached copy of our Subminimum Wage model state bill to help during your advocacy. The more States we can get to pass this legislation, it could have an impact on the Federal legislation.
