The National Federation of the Blind has a voter hotline number that people
can call on election day to report any problems they encounter with voting.
The number is 1-877-632-1940. This number cannot be used during early
voting. John Pare, director of advocacy and policy for the national
federation of the blind, said this number can only be used on election day,
Tuesday, November 5. Problems with accessible voting machines or any other
aspect of voting can be reported. I encourage anyone encountering a problem
voting to also contact their county board of elections. There is a voting
resources link on nfb.org. The NFB is collecting stories about the personal
experiences of blind voters for potentially sharing with media and public
policy makers. These stories will personalize the need for improvements in
the accessibility in federal, state and local elections. To share your
story, go to myvote at nfb.org <mailto:myvote at nfb.org> or call 410-659-9314
ext 8683. If you call and leave a message, be sure to leave your name,
where you live and how you can be contacted. Chris Minkler, president NFB
Buffalo chapter.
