Virtual Pre-Convention Agenda

As in past years, several of our divisions and committees will be holding
virtual seminars, workshops, and meetings in the week leading up to our 68th
Annual State convention.

Events are scheduled beginning on Sunday September 15th and running through
Wednesday September 18th, and all are hosted on the Zoom platform.

Please note that you must be registered with our virtual registration form
found at nfbny.org/convention/register-virtual to be eligible for any door
prizes. This virtual agenda will be updated prior to the commencement of
the main convention on Friday, September 19th, with the links and call in
information for our hybrid convention content.

Constitution Review Town Hall

The Constitution Review Committee has been working hard on the amending of
our NFBNYS Affiliate Constitution. The NFBNYS CRC will be hosting a town
hall style meeting where the proposed amended constitution will be read,
and an opportunity will be given to ask questions.

Have you ever struggled to find the right words to convey what it is like
to be a guide dog handler to members of the general public or to a
prospective guide dog school applicant? All of those feelings and
experiences are both universal and unique, and we have a presentation
through music to help to better express the many highs and lows of the
experience from considering, to training, to working, to saying goodbye,
and then saying hello to a successor. Discussion will also touch upon
experiences of the guide dog itself, GDMIs and puppy raisers as well. There
will be a presentation only portion with all participants muted for the
sake of producing a high-quality recording, followed by a more open Q and
A/feedback session where full participation is possible and welcome.
